Our Experience:

After enjoying 3 days in Colombo the Capital of Sri Lanka, we departed to explore the Southern part or Sri Lanka.

Our first Stop was “Galle” A beautiful Historic City situated in the South Western part of Sri Lanka

Situated in the southwest of Sri Lanka about 100 km south of Colombo, the city of Galle is on the shores of the Indian Ocean. It is constructed on a rocky peninsula which houses a natural port to which access is complicated by the presence of massive coral reefs

Galle:

Galle is a city on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. It’s known for Galle Fort, the fortified old city founded by Portuguese colonists in the 16th century. Stone sea walls, expanded by the Dutch, encircle car-free streets with architecture reflecting Portuguese, Dutch and British colonial rule. Notable buildings include the 18th-century Dutch Reformed Church. Galle Lighthouse stands on the fort’s southeast tip.

My Story:

After the introduction of this wonderful historic city.

My story starts on the 3rd of June, we reached South Point Villas (Bespoke Travel Specialist), Galle. We stayed in one of the well-maintained beautiful Holiday Villa South-point OCEAN Villa. As we entered the breath-taking view of the property very clean well-mannered staff welcomed my family & friends (Travel Companions) Walking through South-Point Ocean villa.

I was mesmerised by the ambiance, beautiful location and the noises of the Indian Oceans waves breaking & rolling into the Shores of South-Point Villa Ocean the name suits the Villa with no doubt at all.

The well-dressed in Traditional attire the courteous staff made us feel comfortable at first sight, we settled in, the children we already in the Swimming Pool performing their naughty tricks screeming shouting with joy, the children were not interested in the adults they had the water to play in the beach to run about and the staff serving them already with Pizza, fries, burgers, juices, beverages, they immediately were enjoying the service & pampering, it was from the time we entered South Point Villa Ocean was warm and the fun children were in their elements of joy.

Beautiful place bordering the shores of the Indian Ocean with tall beautiful coconut 🌴 Trees.

The Rooms gives you a tropical country feeling having magnificent view of the Indian Ocean.

On 4th of June We visited another South Point Villa “The Cottage” which is on the embankment of the Lake Koggala. The Cottage has a private boat on the Lake, that afternoon we took a boat trip EK through the mangroves of Lake Koggala finally reaching a private Cinnamon plantation 🌳.

On behalf of the owners of South Point Villas we were welcomed with warmness. We were shown around the Cinnamon Plantation, it was a wonderful experience to see how they process fresh Cinnamon into Cinnamon sticks and we bought Fresh Cinnamon and Cinnamon oils from there, a memorable experience. Sri Lankan Cinnamon is one of the best in the world.

We were all very tired and we went bed early.

Our wedding anniversary was on the 5th of June and my birthday on 6th of June the host, owners of South Point Villas Mr & Mrs Gunaratne along with my husband had arranged a surprise Anniversary Al Fresco Dinning (Dinner Party) under the Starry lite moon light sky with the noise of slow breaking waves and Calypso Music we sat down to enjoy a great seafood BBQ with continental cuisine tailored to our taste buds the food was exuberant sharp 00:00 (12:00) midnight was the icing on the cake to my great surprise my Birthday Ceremony kicked off by a Surprising Birthday Cake with candle light and sparkling fountains I cut my Birthday cakeEveryone wished me.But I was not expecting this surprise, they all had arranged for me.

It was the best birthday in my life.

As I was thinking all our friends in Pakistan were here with me to celebrate my wedding anniversary & my Birthday.

The arrangements and the food was exuberantly well catered to the occasion with the Calypso Music Playing the biggest surprise for me was the fireworks display on the shores of the Indian Ocean lighting up the sky with Sparkling Fireworks Fountains ending up written on the Fire Works Display “Happy Birthday Raafia”

It was like a dream I was watching with my eyes open mesmerised this memory I will carry all my life it was the best birthday party I ever could wish for.
